Vanilla Snow Ice Cream

Vanilla Snow Ice Cream

We have had over a foot of soft fluffy snow in the last 24 hours, so there is no better day to make SNOW ICE CREAM! I’d been eyeing the recipe from Gimmesomeoven, one of my favourite food blogs and decided today was a day to give it a go myself. I made two edits, I traded the milk for whipping cream, and increased the amount of snow, and it was AWESOME! A hit with my kids too! It was rich and creamy and I would have never guessed it was mostly snow. A must try on a snow day with kids!

Vanilla Snow Ice Cream

Serves 4

  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 10-12 cups of fresh snow

Add whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl and mix until sugar is dissolved. Now the trick with this recipe is you must be fast and ready to roll once the snow gets added. Having you mixing and serving utensils, bowls and toppings ready to go. In another large bowl run out and grab the snow you need. For fluffy and light snow you will need 12 cups, for heavy snow you will need ten. Add the snow to the whipping cream mixture and combine until mixed. Texture will seem like heavy wet snow. Serve and add any desired toppings. I went for sprinkles for my kiddos! Enjoy immediately!
