Pimm’s Cups

Pimm’s Cups

So our obsession with Pimm’s cups all started while on vacation last summer. We were visiting my Aunt Nora, who is a fantastic host, made us these Pimm’s Cups. Needless to say it was a huge hit and made us travel to several liquor stores to finally restock on the much coveted Pimm’s. This drink is something that has really stood the test of time for us as we have enjoyed it all summer, fall, winter, spring and now summer again.  They are bitter, sweet, fresh and savoury all at once somehow. We have made them many, many times now and taste great in a glass, but we like them best in our copper Moscow mule cups. It keeps them nice and cold. One note is don’t skip the mint. Somehow that is the secret ingredient that take it up to the next level. Oh and this fizzy lemonade from Presidents Choice is the perfect accompaniment for the drink! I’ve made this drink so many times but never took the time to measure anything out, just eyeballed everything. It was a good excuse to try to get the measurements accurate on a particularly challenging day at home with two toddlers!

Fill glass with ice. Pour in 1-2oz Pimm’s (usually found in gin section of the liquor store). Top with carbonated lemonade, the best one I’ve tried is the President’s Choice brand. Add two mint leaves roughly broken apart. Stir and garnish with citrus fruit (oranges, lime, lemon, or grapefruit) or strawberries or both! Enjoy
